2018 SPECIAL SESSION I
WHEREAS, for 25 years, Loudoun Habitat for Humanity has served the community by providing homeownership opportunities for individuals and families living and working in Loudoun County; and
WHEREAS, through its mission that seeks to put God’s love into action by bringing people together to build homes, communities, and hope, Loudoun Habitat for Humanity has built or renovated 42 homes, supporting 165 individuals; and
WHEREAS, the scope of Loudoun Habitat for Humanity has expanded to offer a home repair program with a focus on veterans, the disabled, and the elderly, giving new life to older neighborhoods; and
WHEREAS, during its 25th year, Loudoun Habitat for Humanity will introduce a new program called the Home Buyers Club, designed to help the Loudoun community with the financial education necessary to plan for a future that includes successful homeownership; and
WHEREAS, looking to the future, Loudoun Habitat for Humanity will advocate at the local, state, and federal level for housing options for all members of the community; and
WHEREAS, through partnerships with businesses, individuals, government, and other nonprofits, Loudoun Habitat for Humanity helps make Loudoun County a place where everyone can experience the strength, stability, and self-reliance that comes from owning a place to call home; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Loudoun Habitat for Humanity hereby be commended for its tireless efforts to improve the lives of those in need of affordable housing on the occasion of its 25th anniversary; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Loudoun Habitat for Humanity as an expression of the House of Delegates’ admiration for the many accomplishments and generous contributions of the organization’s employees, volunteers, donors, and partners.
