SUMMARY AS PASSED HOUSE:

Onsite treatment works; effluent quality standards and maintenance requirements. Directs the Board of Health to publish a Notice of Intended Regulatory Action for the regulations for alternative onsite sewage systems no later than October 1, 2018, and to work with stakeholders to consider such regulatory amendments related to requirements governing sampling, field sampling procedures, performance requirements, and such other revisions to the regulations as may be deemed necessary by the Board.

SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:

Onsite treatment works; effluent quality standards and maintenance requirements. Provides that effluent quality standards and maintenance requirements for onsite treatment works designed by individuals licensed as professional engineers shall not exceed those established in the Virginia Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (VPDES) General Permit for Domestic Sewage Discharges of Less Than or Equal to 1,000 Gallons Per Day for fresh water discharge.
