Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. § 1. That portion of U.S. Route 221 between the corporate limits of the Town of Bedford and the corporate limits of the City of Lynchburg is hereby designated the "Delegate Lacey Putney Memorial Highway." The Department of Transportation shall place and maintain appropriate markers indicating the designation of this highway. This designation shall not affect any other designation heretofore or hereafter applied to this highway or any portions thereof.

2. That an emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
