Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. § 1. That the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services shall declare through regulations adopted pursuant to Chapter 8 (§ 3.2-800 et seq.) of Title 3.2 of the Code of Virginia that Hydrilla verticillata is a noxious weed.

§ 2. That the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services shall conduct an assessment of the build-up of water weeds, including Hydrilla verticillata, in the waters of the Commonwealth. Such assessment shall include recommendations of measures to mitigate or remove Hydrilla verticillata.
