A BILL to amend and reenact § 3.2-5115 of the Code of Virginia, relating to food and drink sanitary requirements; exception for dogs in wineries.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That § 3.2-5115 of the Code of Virginia is amended and reenacted as follows:

§ 3.2-5115. Animals.

No animal shall be permitted in any area used for the manufacture or storage of food products. A guard or guide animal may be allowed in some areas if the presence of the animal is unlikely to result in contamination of food, food contact surfaces, or food packaging materials. Additionally, a dog may be allowed inside or on the premises of a winery or farm winery licensed pursuant to § 4.1-207, except in any area used for the manufacture of food products.
