SUMMARY AS PASSED HOUSE:

Virginia Public Procurement Act; SWaM program; participation of employment service organziations. Provides that contracts and subcontracts awarded to employment services organizations shall be credited toward the small business, women-owned, and minority-owned business contracting and subcontracting goals of state agencies as well as state contractors. This bill is identical to SB 1538.

SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:

Virginia Public Procurement Act; SWaM goals. Provides that contracts and subcontracts awarded to employment services organizations shall be credited toward an agency's and a contractor's small business, women-owned, and minority-owned (SWaM) business contracting and subcontracting goals. Under current law, such contracts are credited only to a contractor's SWaM goals.
