SUMMARY AS ENACTED WITH GOVERNOR'S RECOMMENDATION:

Fire Programs Fund. Increases the share of certain moneys in the Fire Programs Fund to be allocated to localities for the improvement of volunteer and career fire services from 75 percent to 80 percent. The measure does not become effective unless it is reenacted by the 2018 Session of the General Assembly.

SUMMARY AS PASSED HOUSE:

Fire Programs Fund. Increases the share of certain moneys in the Fire Programs Fund to be allocated to localities for the improvement of volunteer and career fire services from 75 percent to 80 percent. The measure has a delayed effective date of January 1, 2018.

SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:

Fire Programs Fund. Increases the rate of the assessment for the Fire Programs Fund from one to 1.4 percent of the total direct gross premium income for fire and related lines of insurance. The measure also increases the share of certain moneys in the Fund to be allocated to localities for the improvement of volunteer and career fire services from 75 percent to 80 percent. The measure has a delayed effective date of January 1, 2018.
