Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 30-19.2.01 as follows:

§ 30-19.2.01. Requests for information by members of the General Assembly.

A. All departments, agencies, and institutions of the Commonwealth and staff and employees thereof shall respond to a request for information made by a member of the General Assembly.

B. Notwithstanding Chapter 37 (§ 2.2-3700 et seq.) of Title 2.2, a response to a request for information made by a member of the General Assembly shall not be subject to redaction.
