SUMMARY AS PASSED:

Special license plates for immediate family members of persons who have died in military service to their country. Authorizes the issuance of special license plates to immediate family members of a member of the Armed Forces of the United States who died on or after March 29, 1973, while serving on active duty or while assigned to a Reserve or National Guard unit in a drill status.

SUMMARY AS PASSED HOUSE:

Special license plates for immediate family members of persons who have died in military service to their country. Authorizes the issuance of special license plates to immediate family members of a member of the Armed Forces of the United States who died on or after March 29, 1973, while serving on active duty or while assigned to an Army Reserve or Army National Guard unit in a drill status.

SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:

Special license plates for immediate family members of persons who have died in military service to their country; eligibility. Includes immediate family members of persons who have died while in the performance of their official duties among those who may be issued a special license plate known as the "Gold Star" license plate. Currently, such plates may be issued to immediate family members of persons who have died while engaged in action against an enemy of the United States but not those who have otherwise died in the line of duty.
