SUMMARY AS PASSED HOUSE:
Virginia Freedom of Information Advisory Council; membership. Increases the membership of the Virginia Freedom of Information Advisory Council from 12 to 13 by increasing the number of nonlegislative citizen appointees made by the Speaker of the House of Delegates from three to four to include that at least two of such citizen appointees represent or have been a representative of the news media.
SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Virginia Freedom of Information Advisory Council; membership. Increases the number of nonlegislative citizen appointees made by the Speaker of the House of Delegates that represent the news media from at least one to at least two of his three appointments. The bill also provides that the news media representatives must be a current representative of the news media.
