HB 71 Standards of Learning assessments; receipt and administration date.
Introduced by: Peter F. Farrell (by request) | all patrons ... notes | add to my profiles
SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Standards of Learning assessments; receipt and administration date. Requires the Department of Education to make available to school divisions Standards of Learning assessments administered in all public schools, not only those assessments administered in middle and secondary schools, by December 1 of the school year in which such assessments are to be administered or when newly developed assessments are available, whichever is later. The bill removes references to such assessments as end-of-course or end-of-grade tests and instead requires each local school board to administer all Standards of Learning assessments on the date after receipt of such assessments that the board deems most appropriate to evaluate each student's knowledge, application of knowledge, critical thinking, and skills related to the Standards of Learning being assessed.
