SUMMARY AS PASSED HOUSE: (all summaries)
Dietitians and nutritionists. Provides that a person who meets certain requirements may hold himself out as a dietitian or nutritionist, provided that he is employed by or under contract to a government agency and practices solely within the scope of such employment. The bill also defines "nutritional genomics" and requires a dietician or nutritionist who receives nutritional genomics testing information to maintain such information in accordance with applicable federal and state law. In addition, the bill updates the names of organizations from which dieticians and nutritionists are authorized to receive professional certifications in order to practice in Virginia.
