SUMMARY AS PASSED HOUSE:

Permits for excessive size. Authorizes the Commissioner of the Department of Motor Vehicles to issue permits for vehicles transporting boats or other watercraft that exceed an outside width of 102 inches but do not exceed an outside width of 108 inches; under current law, no such vehicle shall exceed an outside width of 102 inches. This bill is identical to SB 719.

SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:

Permits for excessive size. Removes the authority of localities to issue permits for oversize vehicles and authorizes the Commissioner of the Department of Motor Vehicles to issue such permits. The bill does not affect localities' current authorization to issue permits for vehicles that are overweight or both overweight and oversize.
