A BILL to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered 18.2-152.7:2, relating to malicious impersonation by computer; penalty.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 18.2-152.7:2 as follows:

§ 18.2-152.7:2. Malicious impersonation by computer; penalty.

Any person who knowingly and with malice impersonates a living individual without his authorization through the use of a computer and with the intent to defraud or injure that person in his reputation, trade, business, or profession is guilty of a Class 1 misdemeanor.
