Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding in Article 6 of Chapter 29 of Title 54.1 a section numbered 54.1-2973.1 as follows:

§ 54.1-2973.1. Administration of certain compounded drug products prohibited.

No person shall administer any drug product compounded by an outsourcing facility located outside the Commonwealth for any purpose, unless such drug product is labeled with (i) the name and strength of the compounded medication or a list of the active ingredients and strengths, (ii) the outsourcing facility's assigned control number that corresponds with the compounding record, (iii) an appropriate beyond-use date as determined by the outsourcing facility in compliance with United States Pharmacopeia-National Formulary (USP-NF) standards for pharmacy compounding, and (iv) the quantity of the drug compounded.
