Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That § 22.1-79.5 of the Code of Virginia is amended and reenacted as follows:

§ 22.1-79.5. Policy regarding tobacco products and nicotine vapor products.

Each school board shall develop and implement a policy to prohibit the use of electronic cigarettes any tobacco product or nicotine vapor product, as those terms are defined in § 18.2-371.2, on a school bus, on school property, or at a school-sponsored activity.

2. That each school board shall update its policies to comply with the provisions of this act by July 1, 2017.
