HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 11 Commending Edward Frankenstein.

 

Agreed to by the House of Delegates, January 15, 2016

 

WHEREAS, Edward Frankenstein, the Chief of the Prince George County Police Department, retired in October 2015 after working diligently for more than three decades to serve and protect the residents of Prince George County; and

WHEREAS, Edward Frankenstein began his career with the Prince George County Police Department in 1985, when it was still combined with the local Sheriff’s Department; and

WHEREAS, a committed and highly professional officer of the law, Edward Frankenstein rose through the ranks to become a colonel in the Prince George County Police Department; he was named interim chief in 1998 and officially appointed as chief in 2001; and

WHEREAS, during his tenure as chief, Edward Frankenstein oversaw numerous advances in training and procedures and ensured that his officers were equipped with the latest technology and techniques; and

WHEREAS, Edward Frankenstein proudly helped the Prince George County Police Department earn accreditation from the Virginia Law Enforcement Professional Standards Commission in 2014; and

WHEREAS, striving to enhance the quality of life of all Prince George County residents, Edward Frankenstein has been an active member of many civic and service organizations at the local, regional, and national levels; and

WHEREAS, Edward Frankenstein is also the chair of the board of directors of the Crater Criminal Justice Training Academy and has offered his leadership and expertise to numerous public safety committees in the region; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Edward Frankenstein hereby be commended on the occasion of his retirement as Chief of the Prince George County Police Department; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Edward Frankenstein as an expression of the House of Delegates’ admiration for his tireless service to the residents of Prince George County.
