16103731DWHEREAS, Richard Warren Turner of Richmond, a respected businessman who increased the health and well-being of countless Virginians through his contributions to the medical field, died on April 12, 2015; and
WHEREAS, Richard Turner earned a bachelor’s degree from Old Dominion University, a master’s degree from Pepperdine University, and a doctorate from Berne University; and
WHEREAS, possessed of an entrepreneurial spirit, Richard Turner spent his career establishing companies or helping them grow with his exceptional leadership, integrity, and compassion; he led by example, always treating employees with respect and sincerity; and
WHEREAS, over the course of his distinguished career in business, Richard Turner served as president and chief executive officer of Kay Laboratories, Pancretec, The Cooper Companies, BEI Medical Systems, EyeTel Imaging, Conmed Healthcare Management, and American CareSource; and
WHEREAS, a loving father and mentor to his children, Richard Turner was predeceased by one son, Matthew; he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his wife of 31 years, Deidre; children, Heather, Robert, and Finley, and their families; and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Delegates hereby note with great sadness the loss of Richard Warren Turner, a successful entrepreneur and a leader in the medical field; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Richard Warren Turner as an expression of the House of Delegates’ respect for his memory.
