HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 100
Commending the Riverside High School girls' volleyball team.

 

Agreed to by the House of Delegates, February 5, 2016

 

WHEREAS, the Riverside High School girls’ volleyball team won the Virginia High School League Conference 28 championship on November 5, 2015, during its inaugural season; and

WHEREAS, the Riverside High School Rams defeated the Brentsville High School Tigers 3 - 2 in a tense five-set match to secure the conference title; the Rams won the second, third, and fifth sets by scores of 29 - 27, 25 - 11, and 15 - 12; and

WHEREAS, the members of the Riverside High School girls’ volleyball team, who are former students of three high schools in the region with high-quality volleyball programs, recorded 43 kills, three solo blocks, four assisted blocks, 31 digs, and 13 aces in the battle with the Brentsville High School Tigers; and

WHEREAS, after the conference victory, the Riverside High School Rams won a Virginia High School League Group 3A East regional quarterfinal game against the Armstrong High School Wildcats and advanced to the regional semifinal game to finish the season with a 13 - 12 record; and

WHEREAS, with no seniors and only two juniors, the Riverside High School Rams are a young team, poised to continue building the volleyball program’s legacy for several seasons to come; and

WHEREAS, the successful season is a testament to the teamwork and focus of the student-athletes, the leadership of the coaches and staff, and the energetic support of the entire Riverside High School community; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That the Riverside High School girls’ volleyball team hereby be commended on winning the 2015 Virginia High School League Conference 28 championship; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Samantha Ingersoll, head coach of the Riverside High School girls’ volleyball team, as an expression of the House of Delegates’ admiration for the team’s hard work and best wishes for the future.
