HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 507 Offered March 7, 2016 Commending Doris Valerie Wilson. ---------- Patrons-- Simon; Senator: Saslaw ----------

WHEREAS, Doris Valerie Wilson has served the members of the Falls Church community as a senior librarian at the Mary Riley Styles Public Library for 30 years; and

WHEREAS, Valerie Wilson joined the Mary Riley Styles Public Library as a senior librarian in November 1985; and

WHEREAS, the Mary Riley Styles Public Library shelves an average of 25,000 to 30,000 items each month; Valerie Wilson works in the children’s area, which can circulate up to 120,000 items through its summer reading program alone; and

WHEREAS, admired for her work ethic, Valerie Wilson takes pride in the appearance and organization of the library and ensures that patrons can find and enjoy materials in a clean, comfortable space; and

WHEREAS, Valerie Wilson has earned the respect of her peers and library patrons alike for her professionalism and dedication; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Doris Valerie Wilson on the occasion of her 30th anniversary of service to the City of Falls Church; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Doris Valerie Wilson as an expression of the General Assembly’s admiration for her contributions to the Falls Church community.
