2016 SESSION
WHEREAS, Roy L. Skeen, a proud veteran and a valued member of the Bristol community, died on October 26, 2015; and
WHEREAS, a native of Washington County, Roy Skeen honorably served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps and the Tennessee National Guard; and
WHEREAS, Roy Skeen served the community as an employee of Sprint Telephone Company; he retired in 1998 after 40 years of hard work and dedication; and
WHEREAS, Roy Skeen helped honor the service and sacrifices of his fellow veterans as a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1994 in Abingdon; and
WHEREAS, Roy Skeen enjoyed fellowship and worship with the community as a faithful member of Belle Meadows Baptist Church; and
WHEREAS, Roy Skeen will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his wife, Louvennia; children, Michael, Mark, Lori, Robert, and Allan, and their families; and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of Roy L. Skeen, a respected veteran and an active member of the Bristol community; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Roy L. Skeen as an expression of the General Assembly’s respect for his memory.
