HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 207 Commending ADAMS Compassionate Healthcare Network.

WHEREAS, ADAMS Compassionate Healthcare Network is a volunteer-based, nonprofit organization committed to providing patient-centered healthcare to uninsured, low-income individuals in Northern Virginia; and

WHEREAS, ADAMS Compassionate Healthcare Network was founded through a collaboration between the All-Dulles Area Muslim Society (ADAMS), which provided space for the clinic; ML Resources Social Vision, which financed the network and is the lead donor; and the doctors and volunteers who staff the clinic, devoting time and efforts to this cause; and

WHEREAS, ADAMS Compassionate Healthcare Network treated its first patient on November 23, 2013; the network serves community members who have no health insurance and meet certain income guidelines; and

WHEREAS, ADAMS Compassionate Healthcare Network has held annual health fairs to provide basic screenings, including vision, dental, and hearing exams; and

WHEREAS, ADAMS Compassionate Healthcare Network is dedicated to providing quality healthcare to community members in need; it works with doctors, hospitals, and medical testing facilities in the area to provide preventive, primary, and even specialty care at low or no cost to its patients; and

WHEREAS, ADAMS Compassionate Healthcare Network envisions itself as part of a larger network of institutions addressing the health and wellness of underserved and indigent individuals; it is working to cultivate a network of collaborative relationships with individuals and organizations in the community for the purpose of providing comprehensive health care; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend ADAMS Compassionate Healthcare Network for its efforts to increase the overall health and wellness of less-fortunate members of the Northern Virginia community; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to ADAMS Compassionate Healthcare Network as an expression of the General Assembly’s admiration for the organization’s commitment to serving the residents of Northern Virginia.
