2016 SESSION
16103728DWHEREAS, Kenneth Earl Blunt, a respected businessman, patriotic veteran, and beloved family man in Alexandria, died on January 2, 2016; and
WHEREAS, desirous to be of service to his country, Kenneth Blunt joined many of the other young men of his generation as a member of the United States Navy; and
WHEREAS, after his honorable military service, Kenneth Blunt pursued a successful career in business; and
WHEREAS, Kenneth Blunt worked to strengthen and enhance the community as a member of many civic and service organizations, including the Freemasons, Kiwanis Club International, and Belle Haven Country Club; and
WHEREAS, Kenneth Blunt earned a Legion of Honor Award from Kiwanis International, as well as a Governor’s Distinguished Service Award, for his work to help charter the Mount Vernon Kiwanis Club; and
WHEREAS, Kenneth Blunt will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his wife of 59 years, Lucille; children, Christine and Paul, and their families; and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of Kenneth Earl Blunt, a respected member of the Alexandria community; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Kenneth Earl Blunt as an expression of the General Assembly’s respect for his memory.
