Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That § 54.1-3929 of the Code of Virginia is amended and reenacted as follows:

§ 54.1-3929. Preservation of examination papers.

The essay portion of the examination papers shall be kept on file in the office of the secretary and treasurer of the Board in Richmond for one year after the examination, after which it may be destroyed. Any applicant who has received a final examination score below the required passing score shall be given access to review the essay questions and his answers during usual business hours at the office of the Board. Such access shall be given upon written request made no later than 60 days after the Board's notice of exam failure to the applicant.
