Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. § 1. The Department of Health (the Department) shall conduct a two-year point of disease Lyme disease prevention pilot program. The Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries, the Department of Forestry, and the Department of Health Professions shall provide assistance to the Department in conducting the pilot program. The Department (i) shall implement the pilot program in a manner consistent with the findings of the Task Force on Lyme Disease "Point of Disease" Prevention Strategies created by Item 85 of Chapter 665 of the Acts of Assembly of 2015, (ii) may enter into contracts or agreements with private companies to conduct the program, and (iii) shall report the results of the pilot program to the General Assembly by October 1, 2018.
