Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. § 1. Effective for new students entering ninth grade beginning in the 2017-2018 school year, unless the Board of Education has adopted a comprehensive plan that reduces the number of verified credits that are required to graduate with a standard or advanced studies diploma, the Board of Education shall not require a student to earn a student-selected verified credit in order to graduate with a standard or advanced studies diploma.
