2015 SPECIAL SESSION I
WHEREAS, the Mechanicsville National All-star team won the District 5 Little League state championship in July 2015; and
WHEREAS, the Mechanicsville National All-star team defeated Central Loudoun National by a score of 15 - 1 in four innings; and
WHEREAS, dominating the game from the start, the Mechanicsville National All-star team hit two consecutive home runs in the first inning and took a 5 - 0 lead; the team followed up with a grand slam in the third inning and six more runs in the fourth inning; and
WHEREAS, the Mechanicsville National All-star team combined for a total of four home runs; Caden Plummer led the team with six RBIs on two hits, and pitcher Tyler Warren struck out four opposing batters; and
WHEREAS, with the state championship, the Mechanicsville National All-star team earned a berth in the Little League Southeast Regional tournament in August 2015; and
WHEREAS, the victory is a testament to the skill and dedication of the athletes, the leadership of the coaches and staff, and the enthusiastic support of the Mechanicsville community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That the Mechanicsville National All-star team hereby be commended on winning the 2015 District 5 Little League state championship; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Brian Colgin, head coach of the Mechanicsville National All-star team, as an expression of the House of Delegates’ admiration for the team’s achievements and best wishes for the future.
