2015 SPECIAL SESSION I
15200061DWHEREAS, in 2015, Christiansburg Ruritan Club celebrated 30 years of diligent service to the residents of the Town of Christiansburg and Montgomery County; and
WHEREAS, founded on July 18, 1985, Christiansburg Ruritan Club was chartered with 26 members from all walks of life in the town; it was one of 35 clubs in the New River District at that time; and
WHEREAS, the members of Christiansburg Ruritan Club strive to build understanding, fellowship, and goodwill between local communities through volunteer service; and
WHEREAS, over the years Christiansburg Ruritan Club has completed numerous valuable service projects, including litter clean-up programs and a campaign to make the town safer for pedestrians by adding a sidewalk on Depot Street and Watch Children signs near a local park; and
WHEREAS, Christiansburg Ruritan Club also provides assistance to residents in need and invests in the youth of the community through scholarship programs; and
WHEREAS, the selfless members of Christiansburg Ruritan Club have succeeded in enhancing the quality of life in Christiansburg and carrying out the noble vision of the club’s charter members; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Christiansburg Ruritan Club hereby be commended on the occasion of its 30th anniversary; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Christiansburg Ruritan Club as an expression of the House of Delegates’ admiration for its three decades of committed service to the region.
