2015 SPECIAL SESSION I
15200110DWHEREAS, the Dunn Loring Woods Civic Association has faithfully represented and supported the residents of the Dunn Loring Woods community in Vienna for 50 years; and
WHEREAS, established in May 1965, the Dunn Loring Woods Civic Association was created to give local residents a unified voice in local government; the organization studies and responds to issues throughout Fairfax County and notifies residents of relevant public meetings by civic bodies; and
WHEREAS, the Dunn Loring Woods Civic Association helps facilitate efficient and effective community services, including law enforcement, trash collection, snow removal, pest control, and traffic safety, as well as a neighborhood watch; and
WHEREAS, to ensure that residents are well informed, the Dunn Loring Woods Civic Association publishes a monthly newsletter, maintains a directory of residents, and holds regular meetings; and
WHEREAS, the Dunn Loring Woods Civic Association also builds community pride by initiating beautification programs, placing holiday displays, and recognizing the achievements and service of local residents; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That the Dunn Loring Woods Civic Association hereby be commended on the occasion of its 50th anniversary; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Dunn Loring Woods Civic Association as an expression of the House of Delegates’ admiration for its service to the residents of the Dunn Loring Woods community.
