HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 509
Celebrating the life of Taylor Shayne Pauley.

 

Agreed to by the House of Delegates, August 17, 2015

 

WHEREAS, Taylor Shayne Pauley, a beloved 12-year-old member of the Troutdale community who brought happiness to all he met, died on May 3, 2015; and

WHEREAS, affectionately known by family and friends as “Tator,” Taylor Pauley was born in Galax; and

WHEREAS, Taylor Pauley was a sixth-grader at Grayson Highlands School; he was a talented athlete and a compassionate friend who earned the admiration of many of the teachers and school administrators; and

WHEREAS, Grayson Highlands School plans to name a new athletics field in Taylor Pauley’s honor, with additional plans to host a memorial baseball tournament for 11-year-olds and 12-year-olds; his baseball team, the Grayson Stingers, is also raising funds to offer a scholarship in his name; and

WHEREAS, Taylor Pauley will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his parents, Lori and Lester; brother, Tyler; grandparents, Sonny, Sue, and Carolyn; and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Delegates hereby note with great sadness the loss of Taylor Shayne Pauley, a beloved son, brother, and friend in Troutdale; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Taylor Shayne Pauley as an expression of the House of Delegates’ respect for his memory.
