SUMMARY AS PASSED SENATE: (all summaries)

Placement of children entering foster care; Putative Father Registry. Requires local boards of social services to request a search of the Putative Father Registry within 30 days of accepting for foster care placement a child whose father is unknown to determine whether any man has registered as a putative father of the child and, if a man has registered, directs the local board of social services to contact the man to begin the process to determine paternity. The bill requires any man who desires to receive such notification to register with the Putative Father Registry before the birth of the child or within 10 days after the birth.
