SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:

Local cigarette tax; Montgomery and Pulaski Counties. Adds Montgomery and Pulaski Counties to the list of counties authorized to impose a local cigarette tax and requires that the revenue from such tax in those counties be used solely for public education. Current law provides that Arlington and Fairfax Counties may impose a local cigarette tax. The bill expires on June 30, 2025.
