SB 1165 Farm winery; licensees allowed to manufacture wine containing 21% or less of alcohol by volume.

SUMMARY AS PASSED: (all summaries)
Alcoholic beverage control; alcohol by volume. Allows farm winery licensees to manufacture wine containing 21 percent or less of alcohol by volume. Under current law, farm winery licensees may manufacture wine containing 18 percent or less of alcohol by volume. The bill also defines a farm winery to include an accredited public or private institution of higher education provided that (i) no wine manufactured by the institution shall be sold, (ii) the wine manufactured by the institution shall be used solely for research and educational purposes, (iii) the wine manufactured by the institution shall be stored on the premises of such farm winery that shall be separate and apart from all other facilities of the institution, and (iv) such farm winery is operated in strict conformance with these requirements and Board regulations. This bill is identical to HB 1634.
