SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 382
Celebrating the life of Ralph E. Williams.

WHEREAS, Ralph E. Williams, a resident of Gloucester County and a dedicated member of the Gloucester County Republican Committee, passed away on January 1, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Ralph Williams served as chair of the Membership Subcommittee of the Gloucester County Republican Committee; and

WHEREAS, Ralph Williams helped the Gloucester County Republican Committee fulfill its mission to promote and promulgate the principles and ideals of the Republican Party, as stated in the Republican Party Platform and the Virginia Republican Creed, and to work to elect Republican candidates to public office; and

WHEREAS, Ralph Williams volunteered his time and leadership to Republican campaigns in numerous ways, including calling voters, installing large signs on highways, and working at the polls on election days; he diligently worked at the polls for seven hours on Election Day 2014; and

WHEREAS, Ralph Williams volunteered his time and intellect to educate the voting public on the issues by providing issue papers to Gloucester County Republican Committee members and by writing letters to the editor in local newspapers; and

WHEREAS, Ralph Williams, through his words and actions, consistently professed his belief in conservative principles of government and his commitment to restoring conservative values in the United States, the Commonwealth, and Gloucester County; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of Ralph E. Williams; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Ralph E. Williams as an expression of the General Assembly’s respect for his memory.
