SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 309 Offered January 27, 2015 Celebrating the life of Stephen Boddie Wiggins. ---------- Patrons-- Cosgrove; Delegate: Leftwich ----------

WHEREAS, Stephen Boddie Wiggins, a friend to many in the Chesapeake community, died on September 15, 2014; and

WHEREAS, a native of Norfolk, Stephen “Steve” Wiggins earned a bachelor’s degree from East Carolina University, where he was a member of Pi Lambda Phi fraternity; and

WHEREAS, a hardworking and dedicated employee, Steve Wiggins worked with the Liberty Mutual and Prudential insurance companies for more than 35 years; and

WHEREAS, a man of deep and abiding faith, Steve Wiggins enjoyed fellowship and worship with the community as an active member of Great Bridge Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon; and

WHEREAS, Steve Wiggins cared deeply for his family and took great pleasure in supporting them in all their endeavors; an avid sports fan, he offered his time and leadership as the head coach of his sons’ baseball team; and

WHEREAS, Steve Wiggins will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his loving wife of 41 years, Ann; children, Michael, Kristopher, and Stephen, and their families; mother, Gloria; and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of Stephen Boddie Wiggins; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Stephen Boddie Wiggins as an expression of the General Assembly’s respect for his memory.
