SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 304
Commending Faye O. Prichard.

WHEREAS, Faye O. Prichard, a diligent public servant who has worked tirelessly to ensure responsible growth in the Town of Ashland and improve the quality of life of her fellow residents, was elected to her fourth term on the Ashland Town Council in 2014; and

WHEREAS, an alumna of Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), Faye Prichard has served young men and women as an educator for 15 years and currently serves as the director of writing at the VCU Honors College; and

WHEREAS, desirous to be of further service to the community, Faye Prichard ran for a seat on the Ashland Town Council and was elected in 2002; she ably served as mayor from 2004 to 2014, exhibiting a passion for long-term regional planning and sustainable, long-term economic development projects to ensure a high quality of life; and

WHEREAS, Faye Prichard has represented the residents of Ashland on the Richmond Regional Planning District Commission, the Virginia Municipal League, the Richmond Metropolitan Planning Organization, and the Greater Richmond Chamber of Commerce; and

WHEREAS, an active member of the community, Faye Prichard and her husband have lived in Ashland for more than 30 years; they have one grown daughter and two grandchildren in Hanover County; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Faye O. Prichard for her outstanding service to the residents of the Town of Ashland and the Commonwealth; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Faye O. Prichard as an expression of the General Assembly’s admiration for her dedicated leadership.
