Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding in Article 1 of Chapter 9 of Title 15.2 a section numbered 15.2-926.3 as follows:

§ 15.2-926.3. Local regulation of certain aircraft.

Any locality may by ordinance prohibit the use within its boundaries of privately owned, unmanned, autonomous aircraft weighing 55 pounds or less. Such ordinance shall be for the purpose of protecting the health, safety, and welfare of the locality's citizens and to allow citizens the quiet enjoyment of their properties.
