15103851DBe it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding in Article 1 of Chapter 35 of Title 54.1 a section numbered 54.1-3506.1 as follows:
§ 54.1-3506.1. Client Protection Act.
A. No person licensed by the Board shall violate the Board's standards of practice regarding dual relationships, romantic relationships, or sexual intimacies with a client, supervisee, or student. Any person who violates such standards of practice shall be subject to suspension of licensure or, at the discretion of the Board, revocation of licensure.
B. Every person licensed by the Board shall post in his office the phone number of the Department of Health Professions to report suspected abuse of the standards of practice.
C. The Department of Health Professions shall post on its website the name and license number of, and the disciplinary action taken against, any licensee who is found to have violated the standards of practice.
