HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 305
Celebrating the life of Keith A. Bodamer.

 

Agreed to by the House of Delegates, February 27, 2015

 

WHEREAS, Keith A. Bodamer of Vienna, a tireless volunteer and generous community leader, died on February 19, 2015; and

WHEREAS, a native of West Virginia, Keith Bodamer graduated from West Virginia University, where he was a member of the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps; he served his country as a member of the United States Air Force and was stationed in Texas; and

WHEREAS, after completing his military service, Keith Bodamer returned to West Virginia and pursued a long career in the telephone communications industry, retiring from Verizon; and

WHEREAS, Keith Bodamer and his family relocated to Vienna in 1979; a longtime Rotarian, he joined the Vienna Rotary Club in 1996 and quickly became one of the club’s most active members; and

WHEREAS, as an original member of the Viva Vienna Town Festival Committee, Keith Bodamer chaired the sponsorship committee and helped collect many generous donations for local and international charitable organizations; and

WHEREAS, Keith Bodamer helped double the membership of the Vienna Rotary Club as membership chair and served as president in 2000 and 2001; he was named Vienna Rotarian of the Year in 2003 and was a six-time Paul Harris Fellow; and

WHEREAS, Keith Bodamer also served as a board member of Shepherd Center of Vienna/Oakton, where he chaired the fundraising committee; and

WHEREAS, enjoying fellowship and worship with the community as a longtime member of the Church of the Holy Comforter, Keith Bodamer served on several committees and led fundraising efforts to support the church’s renovation; and

WHEREAS, Keith Bodamer will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his wife, Mimi; children, Nancy, Rodney, and Brad, and their families; and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Delegates hereby note with great sadness the loss of Keith A. Bodamer, a respected community leader in Vienna; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Keith A. Bodamer as an expression of the House of Delegates’ respect for his memory.
