WHEREAS, Andi Mack, a senior at Stone Bridge High School in Loudoun County, won the 2015 girls’ 200-yard freestyle event at the Virginia High School League Group 5A Swimming and Diving Championship on February 21, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Andi Mack won the freestyle event with a time of 1:52.15, setting a state record for Virginia High School League (VHSL) Group 5A competition; the meet was held at the Collegiate School Aquatics Center in Chesterfield County; and

WHEREAS, Andi Mack, who is from Ashburn, has been a competitive swimmer for 10 years and has been a member of the Stone Bridge High School girls’ swim team since she was a freshman; she also is a longtime swimmer for Nation’s Capital Swim Club; and

WHEREAS, during the 2015 VHSL Group 5A Conference 14 swim championship in January, which was won by the Stone Bridge High School girls’ swim team, Andi Mack contributed to her school’s conference victory by winning the 200-yard freestyle competition and the 100-yard butterfly event; and

WHEREAS, in addition to freestyle, Andi Mack also specializes in the butterfly and is a National qualifier; she plans to swim for the University of North Carolina in college, fulfilling a long-held goal to swim competitively for a Division I school; and

WHEREAS, additionally, Andi Mack is an excellent student at Stone Bridge High School and is in the top five percent of her class; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Andi Mack, a senior at Stone Bridge High School in Loudoun County, hereby be commended for winning the 2015 girls’ 200-yard freestyle event at the Virginia High School League Group 5A Swimming and Diving Championship on February 21, 2015; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Andi Mack as an expression of the House of Delegates’ congratulations and admiration for her outstanding achievement and best wishes in the future.
