HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 203
Commending Mark Ryan.

 

Agreed to by the House of Delegates, January 23, 2015

 

WHEREAS, in 2014, Mark Ryan, an exceptional youth soccer coach in Loudoun County, received awards at regional and state levels for his accomplishments and leadership on and off the field; and

WHEREAS, Mark Ryan earned the United States Youth Soccer (USYS) 2014 Region I Boys Competitive Coach of the Year Award and the Virginia Youth Soccer Association (VYSA) 2014 Boys Competitive Coach of the Year Award; and

WHEREAS, a member of Loudoun Soccer for three years, Mark Ryan serves as the travel director and head coach of the Northern District of the Olympic Development Program; he led the Loudoun 98 Red boys’ team to the USYS National Championship in 2013; and

WHEREAS, Mark Ryan’s high standards and excellent record as both a coach and a travel director made him a clear choice for the awards, which recognize coaches for overall performance, player development, personal development, and citizenship; and

WHEREAS, a trusted leader to his athletes and an admired mentor and friend to colleagues, Mark Ryan has touched countless lives and strengthened competitive soccer in Loudoun County and the Commonwealth; and

WHEREAS, Mark Ryan will be presented the USYS Region I Competitive Coach of the Year Award and the VYSA Competitive Coach of the Year Award at ceremonies in Philadelphia and Arlington in January 2015; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Mark Ryan hereby be commended on receiving regional and state awards for his achievements as a youth soccer coach; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Mark Ryan as an expression of the House of Delegates’ admiration for his dedication to serving and supporting young athletes in Loudoun County.
