2015 SESSION
15105372DWHEREAS, William E. Cline, DDS, a prominent dentist who served the Abingdon community for more than four decades, died on January 5, 2015; and
WHEREAS, William Cline graduated from William King High School and earned a bachelor’s degree from Emory & Henry College and a medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Cline helped ensure the oral health and overall well-being of the members of the Abingdon community for 44 years as a dentist; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Cline also worked to enhance the quality of life in Abingdon as a member of the Abingdon Civitan Club and Faith in Action; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Cline enjoyed fellowship and worship with the community as a lifetime member of Abingdon United Methodist Church, where he offered his wisdom and leadership on many committees; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Cline will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his wife of 54 years, Betty; children, William and Sara, and their families; and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of William E. Cline, DDS, a respected dentist in Abingdon; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of William E. Cline, DDS, as an expression of the General Assembly’s respect for his memory.
