Commending the Inn at Little Washington.

WHEREAS, in 2015, the Inn at Little Washington received its 25th consecutive five-star rating from Forbes Travel Guide for its restaurant and its 24th consecutive five-star rating for its guest rooms; and

WHEREAS, opened by Patrick O’Connell in 1978 in the historic Town of Washington, the Inn at Little Washington offers a peaceful getaway and delightful cuisine in a refined setting; and

WHEREAS, offering guests imaginative dishes paired with selections from an award-winning wine cellar in an intimate 30-table dining room, the restaurant at the Inn at Little Washington has been called one of the best dining experiences in the United States and Europe; and

WHEREAS, the restaurant at the Inn at Little Washington is the only restaurant in the Commonwealth and one of only 55 in the United States to earn the five-star award; with its 25th consecutive award, it became the longest-running Forbes five-star restaurant in the world; and

WHEREAS, the luxuriously appointed rooms at the Inn at Little Washington feature the finest imported furnishings; the Inn was one of only three hotels in the Commonwealth to receive the coveted five-star rating; and

WHEREAS, the Inn at Little Washington contributes to the Commonwealth’s proud reputation as one of the world’s premier destinations for travel and fine dining; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend the Inn at Little Washington on receiving a five-star rating for its restaurant and a five-star rating for its guest rooms from Forbes Travel Guide; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Inn at Little Washington as an expression of the General Assembly’s admiration for the Inn’s long tradition of excellent service to its guests and contributions to the Commonwealth.
