WHEREAS, in 2015, the Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce proudly celebrates 47 years of support and advocacy for local businesses and work to enhance the quality of life in one of the nation’s most vibrant and fastest growing counties; and

WHEREAS, comprising of more than 1,300 businesses, enterprises, civic organizations, nonprofits, educational institutions, and individuals, the Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce is one of the largest chambers in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area; it serves as the voice of the business community and promotes economic advancement in the region; and

WHEREAS, founded in 1968, the Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce has been a driving force in the growth and responsible development of Loudoun County, under the able direction of respected community leaders from a variety of industries; and

WHEREAS, throughout its long history, the Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce has worked to bring new businesses and industries to the area, encourage growth and development of existing businesses and institutions, and improve transportation systems and infrastructure; and

WHEREAS, the Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce supports local initiatives by promoting volunteer work and strives to maintain a balance of business, agriculture, industry, and tourism to ensure that Loudoun County remains an outstanding place to live and work; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend the Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce for 47 years of service to the residents and businesses of Loudoun County; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce as an expression of the General Assembly’s admiration for its role in creating and promoting a world-class quality of life in Loudoun County.
