WHEREAS, Sara Louise Rollison of Woodbridge, a devoted, longtime educator and a beloved member of the community, died on January 18, 2015; and

WHEREAS, a passionate educator, Sara Rollison helped students build a strong foundation for lifelong learning as a first-grade teacher; she began teaching in the 1960s and worked in Prince William County Public Schools; and

WHEREAS, a woman of deep and abiding faith, Sara Rollison was a charter member of Riverview Baptist Church in Woodbridge; she mentored and supported younger members of the congregation as a Sunday school and vacation bible school teacher; and

WHEREAS, Sara Rollison was an avid gardener and enjoyed visiting the United States Botanic Garden in Washington, D.C.; and

WHEREAS, predeceased by her loving husband, John, Jr., Sara Rollison will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by her children, Elizabeth, John III, Stanley, and Richard, and their families and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of Sara Louise Rollison, a dedicated educator and a beloved member of the Woodbridge community; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Sara Louise Rollison as an expression of the General Assembly’s respect for her memory.
