2015 SESSION
WHEREAS, William Rohimbox Morrison, Jr., M.D., of Franklin, a respected internal medicine physician and devoted father and husband, died on March 9, 2014; and
WHEREAS, a native of Columbus, Ohio, William Morrison was the son of pioneering physician William R. Morrison, Sr., M.D., and Edith Marie Morrison of Cleveland, Ohio; and
WHEREAS, following in his father’s footsteps, William Morrison became a doctor, graduating from the Ohio State University College of Medicine; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Morrison was a talented and compassionate man who generously devoted his time and leadership to many civic activities and organizations; he received many awards and accolades for his work; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Morrison was faithful to his calling and was caring and compassionate to all of his patients; he inspired generations of nurses and doctors and groomed his three sons to pursue the family legacy in the practice of medicine; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Morrison was a former resident of Brooklyn, New York, and relocated to the City of Franklin to be closer to family; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Morrison was baptized at an early age and enjoyed fellowship and worship through the Protestant faith; and
WHEREAS, together with his wife, Betty Poe, Dr. Morrison left a legacy of outstanding service to the community; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Morrison will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by his beloved wife, Betty; their three sons, Dr. William R. Morrison IV, Hashim O. Morrison, and Dr. Norris D. Morrison, and their families; and numerous other family members, friends, and colleagues; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of William Rohimbox Morrison, Jr., M.D., a respected physician and an active resident of the City of Franklin and the Hampton Roads community; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of William Rohimbox Morrison, Jr., M.D., as an expression of the General Assembly’s respect for his memory.
