WHEREAS, Pam Durham Kline recently opened Ollie’s Place in Wytheville to care for a small group of elderly men and women; the homelike facility is in the house where her grandmother lived; and

WHEREAS, Ollie’s Place, which started in 2014, can serve three people; the facility is the culmination of a lifelong dream for Pam Kline, who knew from an early age that she wanted to be a nurse; and

WHEREAS, Ollie’s Place is named for Pam Kline’s beloved grandmother, Ollie Bell Kincer, and her goal is to provide consistent, comfortable, and compassionate care to the people who live there; she is proud of the home’s personalized and safe environment; and

WHEREAS, Ollie’s Place is a family affair for Pam Kline; her husband, father, and uncle worked on renovating the house; she helps the residents bathe and dress, prepares meals, does laundry, supervises medications, and cleans; her mother and sister assist with the daily operations; and

WHEREAS, Pam Kline, a graduate of George Wythe High School, earned a nursing degree from Wayne County Community College in North Carolina; she is a registered nurse and works for a hospice and another home care company; and

WHEREAS, caring for others in the house where her grandmother lived is an honor and a privilege for Pam Kline; she said that she draws great strength from her faith as she works with people who can no longer live independently; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Pam Durham Kline, owner and operator of Ollie’s Place, a small home care assisted living house in Wytheville; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Pam Durham Kline as an expression of the General Assembly’s respect and admiration for her dedication and commitment as she cares for elderly residents of Wythe County.
