2015 SESSION
WHEREAS, in 2015, the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce celebrates 90 years of promoting and supporting local businesses; and
WHEREAS, the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce was founded in May 1925 by a group of local business and professional leaders; and
WHEREAS, the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce’s founders envisioned an organization that would bring economic prosperity to the county and the entire Commonwealth; and
WHEREAS, during the past 90 years, Fairfax County, aided by the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce, has emerged as one of the premier global locations to start or grow a business; and
WHEREAS, the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce has become what its founders hoped for it to be: “the Voice of Business in Northern Virginia”; and
WHEREAS, as the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce celebrates the 90th anniversary of its founding, the organization is poised to lead the Northern Virginia business community toward a bright future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce on the occasion of its 90th anniversary and congratulate it for its success in becoming the voice of business in Northern Virginia; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Jim Corcoran, president and chief executive officer of the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce, as an expression of the General Assembly’s best wishes for the next 90 years of continuous service to the businesses of Northern Virginia.
