15100650DBe it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 54.1-3007.1 as follows:
§ 54.1-3007.1. Licensure of applicant with previous conviction.
If an applicant for issuance or renewal of a license, certificate, or registration has previously been convicted of a felony or a misdemeanor involving moral turpitude and the applicant has previously been issued a license, certificate, or registration by the Board after the date of the conviction and following disclosure of such conviction to the Board, the Board shall not require the applicant to appear before any special conference committee, informal fact-finding panel, or formal hearing panel for the purpose of a hearing regarding the previous conviction unless new information regarding the previous conviction that may affect the outcome of the special conference, informal fact-finding, or formal hearing has been made available to the Board.
