SUMMARY AS PASSED:

Deferred compensation plan for Medicaid program independent contractors. Authorizes the Director of the Department of Medical Assistance Services to provide payments or transfers to the Virginia Retirement System's deferred compensation plan for dentists or oral and maxillofacial surgeons who are independent contractors providing services for the Commonwealth's Medicaid program. The bill will become effective on January 1, 2015, and expire on January 1, 2020. This bill is identical to HB 147.

SUMMARY AS PASSED SENATE:

Deferred compensation plan for Medicaid program independent contractors. Authorizes the Board of Trustees of the Virginia Retirement System to develop policies and procedures to allow certain independent contractors who are licensed dentists or oral and maxillofacial surgeons that perform services for the Commonwealth's Medicaid program to participate in the deferred compensation plan for employees of the Commonwealth and authorizes the Director of the Department of Medical Assistance Services to provide payments or transfers to and to participate in any deferred compensation plan for independent contractors providing services for the Commonwealth's Medicaid program established by the Board.
